Week 2 (Jan 12, 2015 - Jan 18, 2015)

Monday was weigh in day. If you remember correctly, last week I started off at 224.4 lbs.

This week........

211.8!!!

I am FLOORED at the amount of weight I have lost in just one week!

Besides losing 12.6 lbs I also started a boot camp class.

I had purchased a monthly membership on Groupon.com for Better Body Bootcamp (in Bayside, NY).
When I walked into class, I was nervous and scared. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was quite fearful of the pain that I knew my body was going to be in.
But I worked hard, pushed myself when I needed to be pushed, but I also listened to my body for when I needed to.
Needless to say, I was sore when I went to bed that night.

Tuesday's class focused on your core. I have such a weak core from dropping the ball with exercise and  gaining all this weight that it was a challenging class for me.

I tend to have a lot of back pain, but I remember that when I was working out in the past, and had a stronger core I didn't have that much back pain.
As hard as those exercises were, I did my best to be able to gain a stronger core because lets face it, I'm tired of back pain.

On Wednesday I felt like death came and put me in a wood chipper.

My everything hurt, especially my core. I could hardly move. So I took the day off from boot camp.

You always have to listen to your body to know just how hard and far you can push your limits. When you're in that much pain, its best to take it easy and allow your muscles to relax.

So I did.

Instead of going to my class, I decided to do an hour of cardio on the treadmill. Everything was great, until I pulled a Jess.
See, when I'm on the treadmill and a song I like comes on, I am prone to start dancing to it. Likewise for if I am reading something, I might not be cautious with where my feet are...
So in a nutshell, I had stepped the wrong way and ended up sending myself to brace for impact on the possibility of falling, therefore clenching every muscle in my body.  Needless to say, my core tightened and had a major muscle spasm that left me unable to move and breathe....
So that workout was cut short! haha!

By Thursday I went back to my boot camp class.

I was feeling MUCH better and I figured that there's no gain if there is no pain.  But luckily, the calss focused on lower body.  It was nice to not directly target my core all class long.

Friday was my last day of the week at boot camp, and we worked on arms and back. I sure did push myself for this class! When I walked out, my arms and legs felt like jelly!

But I was really happy that I survived my first week of boot camp.

On Saturday I did an hour on the treadmill. Last week I averaged about a 30 minute mile, this week I did about a 20 minute mile.

It was great that I was able to shave off that amount of time! I probably would have done more if it weren't for the fact that I started to feel some discomfort in my knees. I didn't want to push myself too hard to where I wouldn't be able to workout next week.
